چکیده

Background Cardiovascular disease is one of the commonest causes of mortality post-renal transplantation (RT), often in patients with no known cardiac disease. The cardiac phenotype in these patients is not clearly defined. Multi-parametric cardiovascular magnetic resonance (CMR) imaging enables concurrent assessment of myocardial function, perfusion and irreversible injury. We hypothesized that myocardial perfusion reserve would be impaired in asymptomatic post-renal transplant patients when compared with hypertensive controls.

The role of myocardial perfusion SPECT in short-term cardiac prognosis of end-stage renal disease

Introduction: One of the most important causes of death in patients with end-stage renal disease (ESRD) and even after kidney transplantation is cardiovascular diseases. Thus, cardiac evaluation is of utmost importance in the management of these patients especially during preoperative work up before renal transplantation. The aim of present study is to evaluate the role of myoc...

Evaluation of myocardial perfusion and function after kidney transplantation by Gated SPECT myocardial perfusion scintigraphy

Introduction: The aim of this study was to evaluate the effect of successful kidney transplantation (KT) on myocardial perfusion and left ventricular function by both qualitative (visual) interpretation and semiquantitative parameters, using myocardial perfusion scintigraphy with gated-single photon emission computed tomography (gated-SPECT) in patients suffering from end-stage renal disease. ...

Echocardiographic Evaluation of left Ventricular Function and Geometry in Pediatric Patients with Kidney Transplantation

Extended abstract Echocardiographic Evaluation of Left Ventricular Function and Geometry in Pediatric Patients with Kidney Transplantation Cardiovascular disease (CVD) is an important, leading cause of mortality and morbidity in patients with chronic kidney disease (CKD) as well as in renal transplant recipients. Cardiovascular complications become more important in children because of the i...

Reduced myocardial perfusion in post renal transplant population is not associated with aortic stiffness

Background Objective: The purpose of this study was to assess central (aortic) vascular dysfunction in post renal transplant patients by high-resolution cardiovascular magnetic resonance imaging (CMR). Background: Renal transplant recipients are at increased risk of cardiovascular (CV) disease. The cardiac phenotype in post-transplant recipients is not well defined. A recent study suggested myo...
